![Growth for the sake of Growth is the ideology of Cancer Cell. In the same way measuring a nation’s progress in terms of GDP growth is the ideology of Cancer. It conceals ground reality. Consider this, in the same period of very positive growth in terms of GDP, there has been an increase in the magnitude of absolute poverty. If the growth story does not address the fundamental issues like poverty, health, education or to be more precise, any progress on Human Development Indicators, it can be equated to the development of a Cancer Cell.
